Soeur Marie Keyrouz- Cantiques de L'Orient


Soeur Marie Keyrouz is a Melkite nun, originally from Lebabon- now based in Paris. She's a well-regarded singer and scholar of ancient and Eastern church music. She has a stunning voice.

    @ Feq'wah- All I know about them comes from Wikipedia: "L'Ensemble de la Paix, a small band of Arabic instrumentalists which she leads." And yeah, I was also reminded of Oum Khalsoum- though the beauty of her music is clearly edgier...less clositered, if you will...
