Orquesta Popular Colombiana- Flute Indienne de Colombie (Vogue: Collection Loisirs, CLVLX 548)

Hypnotic Colombian wooden flutes swirl through the polyrhythmic thump of tropical percussions. Cover notes indicate nothing beyond the name of the ensemble. 320 vinyl rip by yours truly.

...the francois trad "flutes indiennes" are a little lazy...in fact, these traditional instruments of indigenous origin are,in structure, much more akin cane or cactus or bamboo basoons, just with a higher pitch, and their hispanic name is "Gaitas"- not to be confused with the european ones that are,in spanish, the bagpipes, hahaha, another bad trad- in fact, looking for that name in colombian music youll find much more from traditional to contemporary fusions!

thanxz for all the great musicaltreasures...
